What are we ALL about? Who are we? And what the heck is a Green Blizzard?
Green Blizzard’s mission is to help readers whittle down their personal carbon footprints with insights and information to make smarter, less environmentally impacting consumer decisions. Our governments can only do so much, and as citizens we need to compliment these broad-reaching pubic efforts with everyday minor civic choices of our own.The Green Blizzard Team
Keith Blizzard – Founder and CGO of Green Blizzard
Keith is a “tread lightly on the environment” type of guy. This appreciation for the environment was ingrained during his childhood boy scout days and upbringing by two high school teachers. A few years ago, when he set out to reduce his carbon footprint, he found a dearth of consolidated, pragmatic green living tips available online. So, he came up with the idea of Green Blizzard. With the help of this talented team, it’s a work in progress. Spread the word for us.
John’s work in the energy industry has fostered his interest in the environment. He writes about his passion for food and cooking and how through smarter purchase decisions, you can make your life a little greener
Samantha is a recent graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and brings a fresh, humorous, and spirited perspective to the everyday green issue. She covers topics geared to our readers who are just starting out on their careers.
Northern-born and Southern-raised Danielle Jappah is a passionate writer, designer, and learning enthusiast.
In 2007, her desire to help the environment became a hobby of writing about green topics.

Green Blizzard is your one stop source for insights into your greenhouse gas output, oftentimes referred to as your carbon footprint.
Read through our collection of resource to help you better understand your options and make it easy for you to act on your green intentions, one step at a time.
Reducing your carbon footprint may seem daunting, but with a series of focused adjustments to your consumption and lifestyle you can take a serious chunk out of it one step at a time, and over a few years move closer to a zero carbon impact – maybe even negative.
The world is now in the Energy – Climate Era and humanity’s three great carbon crisis are taking shape around us: global warming, climate change and ocean acidification. The main driver behind these changes is carbon emissions and its heat trapping properties. Most of these greenhouse gases have bee produced as humans burn fossil fuel for energy. Recent carbon emissions have been high enough to boost the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere to present day levels of roughly 390 parts per million. This is 30% higher than atmospheric CO2 levels for at least 800,000 years before the industrial revolution.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency now considers CO2 a pollutant. And there’s growing evidence from the large body of independent scientist that the carbon trend in our atmosphere is getting progressively worse. By changing our lifestyle in steady incremental steps, we will eventually change our carbon output from the present day large positive output and begin to move it towards a neutral output, and hopefully in our lifetimes a negative footprint.
Our writing staff brings leading insights and suggestions on meaningful ways in which you, your family, and your business can reduce and offset CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions. Green Blizzard sorts through all the green-washing and wasteful commercialism to give consumers a clearer perspective on the impact of their everyday actions and choices.
