Ratio of CO2 Across Different Types of Meat Proteins

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint - Eat Less Red MeatRatio of Unit of Meat to CO2 output can be understood in this order…..

Beef: 16
Lamb: 14
Eggs: 8
Pork: 5
Turkey: 4
Chicken: 4
Fish: 3

Couple of Observations:
1 – The magnitude of difference of beef and lamb compared to the other meat proteins, is striking
2 – Eggs are more intense than Pork – that’s amazing! Those pigs are really efficient converts of food.
3 – Fish wins the day again

Wonder how vegetable (e.g. bean) proteins compare to these meat proteins.
