Solar Panels In Ladakh

Heating homes in Ladakh, a region in Jammu and Kashmir, requires burning fossil fuels, cow dung, or wood – all of which are rough on the environment. Gathering cow dung or firewood is labor intensive, and heating homes with wood negatively impact the tree population, an already scarce resource in Ladakh. A group of scientist with the LEDeG project recently built an active solar system which is a green, alternative form of energy that efficiently heats a lucky home.
