How To Reduce My Carbon Footprint

Green Blizzard is all about helping you attain and perpetuate a sustainable lifestyle.
Our home page highlights dozens of recent articles our team of experts has posted. There are CO2 tons of articles with new ones being added every other day.  Its going to be a lot of work, but it is clearly our passion.

Our team here at Green Blizzard sorts through the snowdrifts of green information for the growing mass of environmentally conscious consumers and provides useful everyday insights and suggestions on how to reduce your carbon footprint.

Our goal is to provide a roadmap with a list of meaningful carbon reducing choices that you can make everyday  to help you reduce your carbon output.

These choices have to be made everyday and woven into our lifestyles if we’re going to make a difference.

No one is expected to make these changes overnight, but if you work at it over the next 2-3 years, through a series of meaningful adjustments you will eventually generate significantly less carbon.

Some global change naysayers say that if everyone does a little, we will only achieve a little, but they are missing the scalability factor.  If everyone takes a few meaningful personal steps every month,  then through a collective effort, significant global benefits will be realized.

Just keep asking yourself the same question every day – how to reduce my carbon footprint We all need to change what we can control.  By changing our lifestyle, we will change our carbon output from a large positive output and move it towards a neutral output.  Hopefully very soon to negative.

If you make a few changes, your family and friends will follow, but it is going to require a series of personal purchased decisions and lifestyle choices and commitment by everyone of us, every day over the rest of our lives.   Its a lifestyle change. After a few months of asking yourself the same question every day… how to reduce my carbon footprint,  we can guarantee that your carbon footprint will be much, much smaller from all the adjustments you made in your life.

In Tom Friedman’s recent book, Hot Flat and Crowded, one of the pillars of the book is that a large percentage of the world’s population is either striving for the modern middle class lifestyle or has already achieved it.  The earth’s atmosphere and resources cannot support 7 billion middle class consumers.  Those who have been enjoying this high consumerism for some time now need to lead the way to a more sustainable lifestyle.

Let’s not rely solely on our governments and other organizations to solve this global warming challenge.  Let’s not sit around waiting for our government to legislate action – these are important, but instead let’s each drive the solution and send signals to both our government and business community by voting with our purchase behavior and lifestyle actions. We hope you find the postings and resources we’re collected helpful and tell your friends and colleagues about us. Check out the Green Blizzard Bookstore for our recommended “green” reading books
